MY WEEKEND

in LIFE

How was your weekend? Our Easter weekend was spent together, our first not being with our families. That didn’t stop me from buying Easter baskets, though, so don’t worry. There was plenty of candy to help us pass out on the couch last night watching How I Met Your Mother.

Speaking of How I Met Your Mother, this is how we spent Easter Sunday:

01. Woke up and planned to get breakfast at Subway, because I LOVE their breakfast and Steven never gets their breakfast. Seemed like a good idea, until we remembered that everything is closed. So, we went to Starbucks, instead.

02. Went to the grocery store to pick up our Easter dinner: a rotisserie chicken, macaroni salad and veggies… before you laugh at us, let me tell you that it was delicious and the easiest dinner I’ve ever made. Okay, the only thing I had to make were the veggies, but they were damn good!

03. Decided that we wanted to spend the entire day on the couch watching How I Met Your Mother, but we had just finished Season One and I had bought Season Two on Amazon the night before, so we wouldn’t have it for another week. Bummer. So, we decided to go on a ‘scavenger hunt’ for Season Two. Again, we didn’t take into consideration that even Best Buy would shut down for the entire day. As well as Target, and a couple other hopeful stores. Steven then decided to tell me that all of the seasons were on Netflix. Well, that would have been helpful knowledge up front! So, we made our way home.

04. Decided to go on a run/bike trip (he runs, I bike) to the trails… a 5 mile trip to the trails and an additional 5 miles on the trails. Success.

05. It was so nice at the trails that we decided to head back with our dog to on a walk.

06. Spent the rest of the day vegging out on the couch (finally) watching How I Met Your Mother. It was a perfect day!

I need some feedback from everyone! I’ve been debating in my head what the point of having two blogs is… my personal one (you’re here) and my business blog. It’s getting pretty tough to keep up with both of them, and I find myself posting content on here that I think I should be posting over there. I was thinking of combining everything into blog.amandagenther.com or amandagenther.com/blog. Opinions?

What does everyone think? Would you prefer to have all of my small business tips, brand launch case studies, design inspiration and lifestyle posts in the same place or do you prefer them separate? I think I would be able to provide daily posts full of inspiration and recent work if everything was ultimately in the same place. Currently, I find myself debating over which I should post where and creating duplicate posts to make sure everyone sees the posts!

I’m relying on feedback to make this decision, because it’s ultimately up to you guys!

Thanks so much!

This inspiration board was created for a client looking for a rock meets girly vibe! I am loving the color scheme and the little handwritten details! I can’t wait to get started on the design phase!

A LESS-THAN-IDEAL WEEKEND

in LIFE

This weekend wasn’t great. I have pretty much been lying in bed since Wednesday with some random attempts to get work done. The random attempts were very short lived, because I realized I was just staring at my computer screen most of the time, rather than actually getting work done.

There were a couple of things I did enjoy though.

Making a shop trip to Lush Cosmetics was amazing. I got a gift card from my PIL (parents-in-law… does PIL work?) for my birthday and was ready to spend some money! I think I have a pretty good collection now, and I feel 10x better using it, because I know it’s better for my skin. I’m starting the focus on making my face better and then I’ll move onto my hair. One problem area at a time!

I also finally broke down and bought a giant pack of sharpies for my sketches. I was desperately in need of some color last week, so this solved the problem!

We also made a trip to IKEA yesterday to purchase our media stand for the new apartment, can’t wait until I can show that off!

How was your weekend?
